HORSESHOE
Horseshoe is a quiet community in Oro-Medonte just north of Barrie, built around the famous Horseshoe resort. Originally called Hungry Hollow, Horseshoe Valley was named for the “U” shape of the surrounding hill and its proximity to Georgian Bay. Following the resort’s construction, Horseshoe Valley quickly became the go-to destination in Ontario for Alpine skiing.
Sandwiched between Barrie and Orillia, Horseshoe sees tons of local tourism year-round which allows nearby businesses to thrive. The resort itself is home to a plethora of different activities, all while the surrounding neighbourhood boasts a quiet and peaceful lifestyle.
