TOLLENDALE

This lovely neighbourhood holds tons of importance and played a pivotal role in Barrie’s history.

TOLLENDALE

Tollendale is a quiet waterfront community that features some of Barrie’s best beach parks and urban trails. Home to one of the city’s largest retirement communities, Tollendale’s peaceful atmosphere is one of Barrie’s best-kept secrets.

This lovely neighbourhood holds tons of importance and played a pivotal role in Barrie’s history. During World War II, boats would drop off soldiers at Minet’s Point to attend dances at the pavilion that once served as the heart of the park. Today, it remains one of the most-loved parks in the city, its pebbled beach and shaded, grassy shoreline a calm reprieve from Barrie’s busy downtown.

EXPLORE TOLLENDALE

As a waterfront community, there are plenty of opportunities for swimming, windsurfing, or just relaxing by the water at Minet’s Point, Tyndale Park, or Tollendale Woods. Close to Barrie’s urban center, Tollendale features thriving local businesses and restaurants. Joye’s Ice Cream Parlor is a local favourite for a sunny afternoon on the beach. The Gables is a short, flower-filled trail for when you need to get back in touch with nature. Barnstormer is a great local pub with a wide selection of craft beer and a beautiful summer patio. Reel Em In Fish & Chips, another Barrie favourite, boasts some of the best fish and chips and poutine the city has to offer.
